Objective: This research project aims to determine if there is an influence of psychosocial factors on the quality of life of patients diagnosed with breast cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the Cayetano Heredia-EsSalud Regional Hospital; using a prospective retrospective, cross-sectional, observational, analytical design, with a population of 256 patients diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatment, a sample of 154 patients was selected by means of simple random probability sampling of the stages: I, II, III and IV; in order to compare the four groups, and determine the level of influence of psychosocial factors on the quality of life of patients in each of these groups. Results: Psychosocial factors have a greater influence in patients diagnosed with breast cancer who undergo chemotherapy treatment and who are in stage IV. The cognitive and behavioral attitude of the patients in stages II, III and IV, is regular, and in those of stage I, it is good. Regarding the doctor-patient relationship, stage II, III and IV patients felt regularly satisfied, only stage I patients achieved the level of satisfaction. On the other hand, regarding quality of life in relation to the presence of Nausea has been little affected in stages II, III and IV. Regarding the presence of vomiting, the quality of life has been little affected in stage IV. Finally, the following significant relationships were found: between the psychosocial factor doctor-patient satisfaction and the quality of life of stage II patients; between the psychosocial factor cognitive and behavioral attitude and the quality of life of stage III patients, and between the psychosocial factor emotional distress and the quality of life of stage IV patients. Key words: Quality of life. Breast cancer, psychosocial factors. Chemotherapy
