This work is carried out in the District of Bambamarca, in the Province of Bolívar, in the Region La Libertad, with the principal objective of solving the irrigation problem in there place that affects water deficit times. for this, it’is proposed the design of the reservoir capacity; because of when reviewing the climatic behavior of the study area, there are two defined stages: time of abundance and water scarcity; For this reason, farmers in the area are forced to carry out their agricultural work when there are rains, while in shortage times they don’t sow and the agricultural yield obtained turns out to be limited. The overture proposes the existence of water for irrigation steadily, for that, it was necessary to start from the study of the supply of the water resource, then it began with the selection of the interested area where the project is to be developed the point of interest must be located in a wáter affluent, the point of interest must be located in a water tributary, and in a topographic zone that allows the water resource to be dammed, once defined, the river basin delimitation was carried out, and its morphometric parameters obtained; were selected near the study area, in this case: Cajabamba, Huamachuco, Ticapampa and Pachiza; It should be noted that it was developed through the use of GIS software; ending with the generation of microbasin flow rates by the method of Ecological Polynomial and the total capacity of the channel by the Float method. Continued by calculating the demand for water, and ended with the proposal of an irrigation area with profitable crops that are produced there; for the calculation of the water demand the calculated the crop coefficient (Kc); through the weather stations also with the temperature database it’s obtained the Evapotranspiration of there área by means of this the Consumption Use of the Crops was calculated; with that data and the effective precipitation of the irrigation zone, the water needs of the mentioned area were calculated. Finally, by the methods of the inverse mass curve and the method of the algorithm of succession of top or subsequent top, the useful volume of the reservoir was obtained; then the water balance was carried out in same place and then the water balance was carried out in it and then the calculation of dead volume and minimum operation volume, by means of which the total volume of the reservoir, the height of the wall was obtained; With this data, we proceeded to design the dam that was carried out in three parts: sizing of the land dam, with this data, we proceeded to design the dam that was carried out in three parts: sizing of the Earth dam, sizing of the waterproof core and the foundation design
