Introduction: Gastroduodenal perforation is a pathology of varied etiology and whose prognosis responds to several factors, the diagnosis of this pathology is based on the clinical picture and imaging studies, its treatment is fundamentally surgical, which will depend on the patient's condition This pathology is serious and potentially fatal, and despite the enormous advancement of medicine in recent decades it still has a relatively high mortality rate, so its study is of vital importance in the field of health. Material and Methods: A search was carried out using different databases such as ““Pubmed““, ““Cochrane““, ““Scopus““, ““Elsevier““. Selecting information no older than 15 years. The most recent information about gastroduodenal perforations, its incidence, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, prognostic treatment and mortality was investigated. Results: According to the different articles reviewed and analyzed, it should be taken into account that factors such as the presence of toxic habits in patients such as the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and coffee, in addition to other factors such as advanced age, presence of comorbidities such as heart disease, hypertension and DM, their condition at the time of admission, their nutritional status and the time elapsed until their diagnosis and treatment, as well as the use of NSAIDs, corticosteroids and the persistence of Helicobacter pylori are the factors that are most related to morbidity and mortality of this pathology
