The present research work was quantitative, descriptive and correlational, whose objective was to determine the relationship between the knowledge and the practice of the Nurse in the care of patients with Brain Trauma in an emergency at the Cajabamba General Hospital. The sample consisted of 20 Nurses, for data collection 02 instruments were applied, the first instrument was a questionnaire that measured knowledge and the second instrument was an observation guide to measure the practice provided by the Nurse in the care of the patient with Brain Trauma. The results obtained were that 50.0% of Nurses presented medium knowledge and 50% low knowledge, with respect to the age between 25 and 40 years old, 58.3% presented medium knowledge and those who are over 40 years old presented low knowledge. 62.5%, with reference to the specialty 58.3% a low knowledge and without specialty 62.5% presented medium knowledge. Regarding the time of work in the service from 1 to 5 years, 56.2% presented low knowledge; while those who are over 6 years old, 75.0% have medium knowledge and 25.0% have low knowledge, with respect to practice 35.0% of Nurses presented adequate practice, 65.0% presented inadequate practice and finally 35% of the Nurses presented adequate knowledge and practice and 65% presented inadequate knowledge and practice
