Objective: to know the Risk Factors Associated with Acute Coronary Syndrome in patients at Hospital III-1 EsSalud José Cayetano Heredia Piura 2017-2018. Methodology: Analytical, observational, descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional and correlational study. The sample consisted of 93 medical records of patients with a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. For the analysis, a database was used in the Excel 2010 program, and then it was transferred to STATA 10.0, software in which all the statistical analyzes were performed. Results: The male sex was predominant in both groups. Also, the urban origin. Obesity was present in 80% of patients with STE coronary event versus 49% of patients in the case of STEM, therefore obesity is associated with STE coronary syndrome. (P <0.001), from the sociodemographic factors it was found that provenance is associated with STE coronary syndrome. The cardiovascular factors greater than a cholesterol> 200 mg / dl increase by 1.31 times the prevalence ratio of having a STE coronary event (p <0.01 RPa = 1.31 IC [1.16-1.48]). Finally, obesity, microalbuminuria and early coronary heart disease in first-degree relatives increase the prevalence rate of suffering a STE coronary event by 2.4 times (p <0.01, RPa2.4 [2.4 - 2.49]), 1.21 times (p < 0.01, RPa 1.21, CI [1.06 - 1.18]) and 1.41 times (p <0.01, RPa 1.41 [1.24 - 1.61]). Conclusion: There are sociodemographic characteristics and risk factors associated with STE coronary syndrome.
