Objective: To determine if changes in nutrition and lifestyles among medical students in Piura are associated with the confinement period following the pandemic. Material and methods: Analytical cross-sectional study with primary data collection from students in the Human Medicine program at UPAO. Both descriptive statistics (frequency and percentages) and analytical statistics were used for the corresponding associations (p<0.05). Results: During the confinement period, the analysis of Human Medicine students in Piura revealed diversity in gender and age (49% male, 51% female, distributed age groups). Regarding employment, 34% were working, while 66% were not. Seventy-four percent were financially dependent on their families. It was observed that 69% experienced anxiety or stress, and 31% did not report it. Regarding weight, 19% were underweight. Additionally, the analysis of perceptions about categorized lifestyle showed significant changes during confinement, with 11.5% in ““danger,““ 22% in ““poor,““ and 37.5% in ““fair.““ Conclusion: Significant associations (p<0.05) were found between variables such as gender, age, anxiety/stress, lifestyle, and nutritional status, emphasizing the importance of considering these factors when addressing the observed changes during confinement
