Objective: To determine the factors associated with performance in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in basic sciences among students of Human Medicine at the Private University Antenor Orrego. Materials and Methods: A nested case-control study was conducted within a cohort. The population consisted of 237 students who completed the fifth academic semester and underwent the Objective Structured Clinical Examination in Basic Sciences. Informed consents and the necessary data for the study were collected through a virtual survey and information provided by the curriculum program. Bivariate analysis used Pearson's Chi-square test and Mann-Whitney U test; logistic regression was employed for multivariate analysis. Results: In the bivariate analysis, variables that showed a statistically significant association (p<0.05) were the cumulative weighted average and the score obtained in the theoretical examination. In the multivariate analysis for the statistically associated variables, it was evident that the cumulative weighted average and the score obtained in the theoretical examination maintained their statistical association (p<0.05). Variables such as age, gender, admission modality, and learning styles did not show association with performance in both bivariate and multivariate analysis. Conclusion: Cumulative weighted average and score obtained in the theoretical examination are factors associated with performance in the OSCE in basic sciences among students of Human Medicine at the Private University Antenor Orrego
