To determine whether thymoleptics are effective in the treatment of depression and improve the quality of life of patients attending the Centro de Reposo San Juan de Dios (Crempt) - Piura during 2021. Methods: This study was non-experimental and included patients with a diagnosis of depression who received treatment with thymoleptics at the Centro de Reposo San Juan de Dios (Crempt) - Piura during the months of April to October 2021. Two study groups were established: group 1, those receiving only pharmacological treatment, and group 2, those receiving pharmacological treatment plus behavioral therapy. Data collection form, Zung test (to evaluate their level of depression), PANAS test (to evaluate their quality of life) and ESTA questionnaire (Evaluate the level of satisfaction with the treatment) were applied. Results: We included 114 patients, of whom 51.75% received thymoleptics plus behavioral therapy and 48.25% received only thymoleptics. The mean age was 41.76 years, and female sex represented 78.95%. Thymoleptics alone improved somatic symptoms in 70.94% of patients, while if combined with behavioral therapy the improvement was similar with 83%. Thymoleptics improved quality of life by 74.55% if used alone and with combined behavioral therapy was 66%. Conclusions: Thymoleptics were effective in the treatment of depression in CREMPT patients during 2021, despite the combined use with behavioral therapy, the main effect was basically attributed to pharmacotherapy
