Background: Triamcinolone and Methylprednisolone Acetate are known to be drugs used for mechanical low back pain, with good results in both treatments. However there are not many studies comparing the effectiveness of both drugs and less in our country. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of Triamcinolone infiltration and Methylprednisolone Acetate infiltration in acute mechanical low back pain. Methods: Patients diagnosed with Mechanical Acute Low Back Pain will be studied and treated at Hospital II Chocope - Trujillo during October-December 2018. The variable resulting from this study will be the effectiveness of infiltration for acute low back pain, while the independent variable will be Infiltration with Triamsinolone and Methylprednisolone Acetate. An analytical, observational, prospective cohort study will be conducted in a sample of 274 patients. The patients will be divided into two groups, according to whether they were administered as treatment infiltration with Triamcinolone or Methylprednisolone Acetate, with 117 patients conforming to each group. Univariate and bivariate analysis will be performed for qualitative and quantitative variables. In the multivariate analysis, binary logistic regression models will be used, calculating the Odds Ratio, 95% confidence interval and p-value. Expected results: It is expected to find greater effectiveness in Triamcinolone compared to Methylprednisolone Acetate for the relief of acute mechanical low back pain.
