The present investigation starts from the reality of the pavements in the Piura region, where of the total of asphalted roads, 40% are in poor condition, considering the weather and traffic as determining factors of this result. For this reason, the analysis of research is proposed, in which the essential theme of these is to evaluate the conditions and behavior of asphalt in different realities, with the percentage addition of the polymer (Plastomer or Elastomer). It is announced that the research carried out in this thesis, due to the situation, is only of data analysis obtained by the aforementioned authors, adding the situational approach that is lived in Piura. From the investigations it was obtained that the choice of asphalt depends on the climatic condition to which they will be exposed, which is very varied in Piura, this being governed by Peruvian regulations. Therefore, polymers that modify and make compatible with commercial asphalts are analyzed. Regarding pavements modified with elastomer-type polymer, considering the SBS of which, when used to modify asphalt, gave results of: improvement in hardness with a penetration of 91 x 0.1 mm in a PEN 85/100 base asphalt, corresponding to 51 % increase in its hardness; increase in the softening point at 70ºC, representing an increase of 40% with respect to conventional asphalt; elastic recovery of 80%, while in conventional asphalt according to data from the talara refinery it is 13% and in a second analyzed investigation it was known that for a 60/70 asphalt an increase in Marshall stability was evidenced by 53% with respect to to conventional asphalt. The evaluation carried out on asphalt modified with elastomeric polymer, within the commercial considered we have EVA and PET. The first type 60/70 asphalt modifier shows an increase in Marshall stability of 17.34%, the second polymer shows an increase in Marshall stability of 9.6% and in flow in 6.52% compared to the conventional mix. On the other hand, the use of polymers influences an additional 22% to the conventional cost of the asphalt mix. From the results found, it is stated that the asphalt mix modified with elastic polymers adopts hardness and elastic recovery, which translates into better resistance to rutting, due to the increase in the softening point; while plastomertype polymers provide the mixture with improvements in stability and flow directly associated with the resistance to the loads that the asphalt structure is subjected to.
