The sociodemographic characteristics of patients with postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony are: 25.8% of the postpartum women were between 24 and 29 years old; 69.4% came from the coast, 45.2% had a secondary education degree, 66.1% had low socioeconomic status; according to the antecedents, 74.2% declare to have no history of preeclampsia and 69.4% of placental retention, 64.5% were multiparous, 56.5% did not have an iterative caesarean section and 82.3% had an emergency caesarean section. Postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony in immediate postpartum women was 0.8% while 99.2% did not present postpartum hemorrhage. 58.1% of immediate postpartum women who presented postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony did not present pregestational obesity, 25.8% of postpartum women who presented postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony presented pregestational obesity class I; while 4.8% had pregestational class III obesity.
