Demonstrate whether the psychological response to stress, excessive daytime sleepiness, Internet connection problems, and sleep quality are factors associated with academic performance in teaching under the virtual modality of the Semiology course of the Human Medicine program at the Antenor Orrego Private University in the 2021-20 semester. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Observational, analytical and cross-sectional study in 244 students belonging to the Medical Semiology course of the Human Medicine program at the Antenor Orrego Private University corresponding to the 2021-20 semester, who meet selection criteria. RESULTS: Of the group of students who showed poor academic performance, a prevalence of 98.3% of the population that presents Internet connection problems was demonstrated, likewise 31.7% presented a high level of perceived stress. 84.4% presented excessive daytime sleepiness and 93.9% presented poor sleep quality. Regarding good academic performance, the prevalence of high level of perceived stress is 34.4%, with respect to drowsiness a 100% prevalence was demonstrated and 92.2% presented poor sleep quality. Only the variable ““Internet connection problems““ showed statistical significance associated with poor academic performance (RPa = 2.72; 95% CI = 1.70 - 4.34; p = 0.01).
