In this present work, the comparison of methodologies such as PCI and VIZIR is developed, which focuses on evaluations of pavement condition. Thus, on-site inspections were carried out using drone technology to facilitate the progress of evaluation and data collection. Thus, the Guillermo Irazola avenue is taken as a sample since it currently presents superficial deterioration in its flexible pavement due to its large vehicular flow and lack of routine maintenance. In addition, this avenue has a great relevance since it is a main road that connects access roads such as secondary arteries and a section of passage through the Sánchez Cerro bridge. Therefore, the main objective is to make the comparison between the PCI and VIZIR to determine the methodological efficiency of the functional state of Guillermo Irazola avenue in Piura, which we begin with the preliminary inspection with the odometer finding the distance traveled of 2,200 km of Length to be evaluated in such a way that we section sampling units every 31.5 m and recording the various types of pathologies present on the pavement with the flight plan of the DJI MAVIC AIR drone under the supervision of a qualified operator. Consequently, in office work, the calculation of the PCI and VIZIR was carried out taking into account the qualification parameters, resulting in that according to the PCI method it is obtained that its condition index is 40, indicating that its classification range is BAD and On the other hand, in the VIZIR calculation, the average numerical value of the entire section is obtained is 3, that is, its condition index is REGULAR. It is observed that there are variations in its results, so we make a comparison of percentage results, which is why it is concluded that the most efficient methodology is the Pavement Condition Index method, since it helps from the graphs of deduced values and details with precision calculations
