The present thesis called “Executive Functions” to improve reading comprehension in the area of English in 6th grade students of a Private Educational Institution of Trujillo - 2019 was carried out with the purpose of defining if the application of the program “Executive Functions” contributed to the development of reading comprehension in the area of English in the students of the sixth grade of primary education of an Educational Institution of Trujillo in 2019. From the methodological point of view, the cuasi experimental design was used with two groups to which a pre and post-test was applied, titled “Reading Comprehension Test for teenagers” which was previously validated by 5 judges . The results of this investigation show that after the comparison of means for related samples obtained from the post-test of the experimental and control group and using the Student's t statistic, it was determined with a confidence of 95%, that there is a highly significant difference (t = 4.302 ; p <.01) between the control group (10.82) and the experimental group (15.23); therefore, it is concluded that the application of the educational program “Executive Functions“ specifically improved reading comprehension in the area of English in 6th grade primary students.
