The present study investigated the factors that have driven the growth of small businesses in the district of Moche during the period 2015 and 2022. The objective was to identify and analyze the key elements that have contributed to the development and success of these businesses in the locality. Variables such as business growth, entrepreneurial motivation, access to financing, managerial skills and trained personnel were examined. The approach used was descriptive and included surveys, financial data analysis, and documentary review. The technique used was surveys to collect and analyze information regarding the growth of small enterprises. The results showed that 16.77% of the enterprises had sales between 10,001 and 20,000 soles per month eight years ago and by the end of 2022, 60.65% had monthly sales in this range. At the same time, 51.61% of managers invest heavily in training their personnel. It was also evident that 78.71% of the managers considered that business motivation significantly affects the company's results. A 57.42% decided to have a credit with financial entities, while the rest preferred to get into debt with relatives or friends to obtain better results in the company. In conclusion, the findings show that entrepreneurial motivation, access to financing, managerial skills and trained personnel contributed to business development in Moche; therefore, these results can serve as a basis for future research and public policies aimed at promoting small businesses.
