The objective of the present study was to evaluate the factors associated with carcass yield (CR%) of cattle slaughtered in feedlots in the city of Chimbote, department of Ancash. For this purpose, 194 animals of both sexes of Angus, Brown Swiss, Cebu, Fleckvieh (Simmental), Hereford, Holstein, Jersey and Criollo breeds were evaluated, ranging in age from 1 to 6 years. The study was conducted during August and September 2023, under Peruvian coastal climatic conditions. The results showed higher CR% (p<0.05) in males (44.95 %) compared to females (40.00 %); likewise, cattle from Huánuco showed higher (p=0.05) CR% (44.99 %) compared to other places of origin. Regarding the breed, there was a higher CR% (p=0.05) in cattle of the Cebu breed (45.02 %) followed by Hereford (44.96 %), Jersey (42.04 %), Brown Swiss (42.01 %) and Criollo (40.84 %). We concluded that carcass yield was associated (p<0.05) with sex, origin and breed of the cattle slaughtered in municipal feedlots. Male cattle, those from Huánuco and Ancash, and the Cebu breed showed higher carcass yields. Carcass yield correlated (p<0.05) with thoracic perimeter in both male and female cattle
