Human trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labour, sexual slavery, or commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers, in their own countries and abroad. Currently, northern Peru does not have a place that protects the victims. In Lima there are 2 rehabilitation centers, Madre de Dios has a residential care center; but it is not enough. Unfortunately, the crime of human trafficking is increasing and appears in the north of the country with intensity. For this reason we have decided to create a recovery center for victims in Sechura (a city to the northwest of Piura). They count with a destined area for communal services. We worked with Regional Government, the Municipality of Piura, INABIF (National Comprehensive Program for Family Welfare), CHS ALTERNATIVO (Social Human Capital), CEM (Women's Emergency Center - Piura).
