The purpose of the research project is to develop hydrological and hydraulic modeling in order to design a riparian defense system in the right section of the Pampas de Hospital district, which suffers from water flow overflows. This project is divided into goals to meet the general objective. Starting with a hydrological study that has the purpose of obtaining the flows that the designed structure must support by means of a frequency analysis with probabilistic distributions. The first main step is the delimitation of the study basin, based on a gauging point that represents the hydrometric station, applying the Hechms software for the delimitation of the basin, because several studies mention that its process to obtain the sub-basins is very similar to the geographic information system such as ArcGIS and QGIS. Subsequently, the hydraulic model that has the purpose of representing the movement of the flow on the riverbed (Tumbes River), whose inputs will depend on the approximation that we want to work with. The results of the hydraulic modeling show that there is an extension of flooding. Where the flows generated are greater than 15 meters in the channel itself and greater than 2 meters in the floodplain. And their velocities are greater than 15 m/s. Concluding that as a preventive measure, protection structures should be designed, basing their dimensioning on their hydraulic parameters
