The purpose of this research work was to use the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method to evaluate the road surface on Avenida Víctor Andrés Belaunde in the El Bosque Trujillo urbanization. We use this method to focus on the damage to the pavement and quantify its state of conservation, it is a complete and accurate method which required a visual inspection. In this research work, a tour was carried out along the avenue and it was visually inspected, the existing faults in the road were recorded, in this way it was possible to determine the current state of the road, using the PCI manual and the Established parameters such as: PCI = 0 is evaluated as a bad pavement and when PCI = 100 is an excellent pavement. When executing this method on Avenida Víctor Andrés Belaunde, considering that it consists of two lanes with only one direction, the width of the road is 6.00 meters; the total length is 930 linear meters, following the indications of the method, the area was divided into sample units of 229.8 m2 and 12 units were evaluated. In the field evaluation, the different types of failures were visually inspected such as bulges, subsidence, gaps, patches, longitudinal cracks and aggregate detachment, in which their area was recorded longitudinally and transversely with the use of a manual tape measure. an aluminum ruler. Finally, it was determined that the pavement condition index obtained an average of 52.02, which is why it is in a Regular state
