Objective: To evaluate the associated factors (clinical and surgical) in late complications in post-surgery patients of uncomplicated inguinal hernia. Materials and methods: An analytical observational study of the case-and control type was carried out to evaluate the associated factors in late complications in post-operated patients with uncomplicated inguinal hernia at the Hospital de Alta Complejidad Virgen de la Puerta (HACVP) and Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray (HVLE) in the period 2018 - 2023. The medical records of the aforementioned population were used with a total sample size of 290 (145 cases, 145 controls) by simple random sampling. Results: The median age of the cases was 65 years and of the controls 66 years; the proportion of males in both groups was 75.2% and 74.5%. The clinical factors significantly associated with late complications after uncomplicated inguinal hernioplasty were overweight (OR=2.00 (1.18-3.37), p<0.001), obesity (OR=10.83 (4.41-26.63, p<0.001) and type I hernia according to the Nyhus classification (OR=4.34 (1.42-13.28), p<0.027). Type 2 diabetes mellitus proved to be a protective factor (OR=0.324 (0.150-0.6979), p<0.003). On the other hand, surgical factors significantly associated were conventional type surgery (OR= 3.59 (2.18-5.90), p<0.001) and Lichtenstein surgical technique (OR=2.91 (1.26- 6.72), p<0.001). Conclusions: Obesity, overweight, type 2 diabetes mellitus, type I hernia, conventional type surgery and Lichtenstein technique are significantly associated with late complications in post operated uncomplicated inguinal hernia
