The purpose of this research thesis was to design an MRP model to reduce the costs of the inventory system in the Hortifrut - Perú SAC agroindustry in the Chao district, La Libertad department. The methodology used in our research was of an applied type and non-experimental transversal descriptive level, having as a population the totality of the warehouse materials that are necessary for the harvest of blueberry crates and a sample that groups the materials that have a greater rotation of inventories and higher monetary cost identified through an ABC analysis. With this MRP model, it is desired to achieve the objective of planning the material requirements for the production of blueberry harvest. Likewise, determine the reduction of stocks in the warehouse and, consequently, the saving of inventory costs with the design of the material requirements planning system, throughout the year. The beginning of the study consisted of identifying and classifying the products stored in the ALMC warehouse, according to the demand by collecting information, through historical documentation and applying techniques such as direct observation; This classification was made through the ABC analysis, allowing us to focus on the products that have the greatest impact on direct consumption for the production of the blueberry harvest. Subsequently, an analysis, evaluation and selection of the best forecast was made in order to project the remaining demand for the year 2021; in such a way that it serves together with the master production plan, the list of materials and inventory records; design the material requirement planning system for the entire year; which will allow to determine the period and the clearly necessary quantity of inputs and materials for the production batches, avoiding the accumulation of stocks in the warehouse and thus reducing the costs incurred in doing so. Finally, an economic evaluation was carried out; which concluded that the savings through the design of the material requirements planning system for the company throughout the year is 25.63%.
