This research whose objective is to project a gerontological center for the elderly, carrying out due analysis and development according to the needs of the elderly in the province of Contralmirante Villar, Tumbes region. The project arises as a response to a felt need of the older adult population, who have taken center stage, given its accelerated growth in contrast to the general population, this process of population growth in contrast to first world countries, develops with the presence of poverty and lack of health promotion policies. It should be noted that to date the region of Tumbes does not have a nursing home or a medical center for its exclusive care, which provides comprehensive care services for elderly people at risk or abandonment, which is why an intervention is necessary that covers those needs. When the gerontological approach is assumed in the project, it is proposed to promote dignified aging, with autonomy and physical independence, prolonging it for as long as possible taking into account the inevitable biological process, for which certain design criteria are proposed to be developed. The project responds to a typology where the medical, residential, educational and recreational converge, also marked by a design focused on the special needs of our user, the elderly, maintaining a language of appropriate forms. It is necessary to consider that older adults cope with changes and physical disorders that cause the perception of spaces to be altered. The architecture should focus on providing solutions and take into account the needs of people who do not fit into the usual mold, seeking and integration of the elderly with the project and the immediate environment, promoting communication and interaction between them.
