This thesis addresses the theme of the design of the rainwater catchment, storage and treatment system to optimize the water consumption of the I, E. Simón Bolívar, Otuzco with which it was formulated as a general problem: What is the catchment design , storage and treatment of rainwater to optimize EI's water consumption Simón Bolívar in Otuzco ?; the general objective being ““to determine the design of the rainwater collection, storage and treatment system to optimize the water consumption of the I, E. Simón Bolívar, Otuzco““. The present research work was developed through the scientific method, according to its purpose it is applied research, with a correlational descriptive level, of non-experimental cross-sectional design; the population and sample studied are all the ceilings of the I.E. Simón Bolívar de Otuzco. It was concluded that the optimal coverage conditions exist to guarantee the capture of rainwater. The roofs are made of waterproof material such as corrugated iron and Andean tile, with a minimum slope of 5%. The rainwater harvesting system will be made through gutters with a minimum efficiency of 80%. The rainwater is transported through gutters to a separator for the first rains. The rainwater reaches the cisterns and then the rainwater is raised to the elevated tank by means of an electric pump, with the installation of two filters. The storage volume is 147,384 m3, and they will be distributed in 4 tanks of 62.50 m3; 40 m3; 40 m3 and 22.50 m3 according to each of the activities that require the consumption of water in the I.E. Simón Bolívar de Otuzco.
