de 65 años (OR:2.08, IC95%:1.09 – 3.94. P=0.02), en los pacientes diabéticos
(OR:5.10, IC95%:2.21 – 11.72, P=0.001) y en los pacientes con insuficiencia
cardiaca congestiva (OR:9.80, IC95%:2.75 – 34.9, P=0.001).
To demonstrate whether anemia and hypoalbuminemia increase mortality in hemodialysis patients who were attended in Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital during 2016 - 2018. Material and methods: This cases and controls study, included 270 patients, who were over 18 years old, the cases were made up of 90 patients, and the controls 180, these patients were selected according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusión. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in risk of mortality between patients with anemia and hypoalbuminemia and patients without anemia and hypoalbuminemia were found to be 6.5 and 4.7 times more risk to die respectively. It was observed that patients older than 65 years have 2.08 times more risk of death. Conclusions: Anemia and hypoalbuminemia were associated with increased mortality in patients on the hemodialysis program.
