The present research work focuses on the identification of sites with fluctuation of the TV 40 UHF signal, in the city of Trujillo through an analysis of the received signal as a function of surface refractivity (Ns). To do this, 100 representative locations of external television reception points in the city were selected, estimating for each of these points, the signal reception level by varying the surface refractivity in the ranges 250 Nunits <Ns <400 Nunits. In accordance with the typical values of environmental temperature, atmospheric pressure and humidity of the city of Trujillo, a range was established between 300 Nunits <Ns <400 Nunits, under which it was possible to identify signal fluctuation in 14 points of the city. The highest values of surface refractivity were obtained with the highest values of humidity and temperature, and; Under these conditions, five locations with an increase in the signal above its average were identified, as well as nine locations with a reduction in the received signal above its average.
