The purpose of this research was to analyze and compare the resistance to axial compression and diagonal compression in prototypes of masonry walls, using ordinary portland cement mortar and Massa Dun Dun as a joint material between masonry units, which will allow us to determine which of the prototypes are more resistant, if those made with 1: 5 dosing cement mortar or prototypes built with Massa Dun Dun. For the construction of prisms and wallets with ordinary Portland cement mortar were used the following materials: LARK bricks Type IV, Pacasmayo Portland cement Extraforte type Ico, 1: 5 dosage and fine agregate that was extracted from the El Milagro quarry, while the prisms and wallets built with Massa Dun Dun they have the following characteristics: prisms with 2 and 3 cords of 1 centimeter in diameter that are extended along the course and 3 milimeters of joint and 3 types of wallets, with 2 cords, 3 cords and with joint horizontal and vertical. For the development of the thesis, were constructed a total of 6 prisms with cement mortar, 6 wallets with cement mortar, 12 prisms with Massa Dun Dun and 18 wallets with Massa Dun Dun, which were subjected to axial compression test and diagonal compression efforts. The tests were performed at the age of 3 and 28 days for prototypes with Massa Dun Dun and 14 and 28 days for prototypes with cement mortar. Based on the results, it was concluded that both the axial compressive strength and the diagonal compressive strength of the prototypes connected with Massa Dun Dun do not approach the values obtained in the axial and diagonal compression tests performed at prisms and wallets connected with the traditional 1: 5 dosing mortar, so it is not advisable to use the glue known as Massa Dun Dun in the construction of load-bearing walls.
