The research ““ Efficacy of self-measurement of blood pressure compared to Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring for the diagnosis of arterial hypertension in a first- level health facility, period 2022-2023““, had as objective: To determine the efficacy of self- measurement of blood pressure (BP) as a diagnostic method for arterial hypertension compared with 24-hour ambulatory BP monitoring (ABPM). Methodology: An observational, analytical, diagnostic test validation study, evaluating the effectiveness of self- measurement of BP in comparison to 24- hours ABPM, in addition to the internal validity of the method in the various day patters. The population was patients evaluated in consultation, in whom these studies were carried out. The sample size was 155 patients, calculated using the Stata v. 15 program. The information was obtained through a data collection form and the 24- hour ABPM report, which were interpreted by a specialist doctor. Results: The prevalence of hypertension in 24 hours ABPM WAS 47.1% and with 2- 7 days of self- measurement of BP, 48.4%. In systolic pressure, the area under curve of self- measurement of BP for 2-4 days and 2-5 days had a value close to that of 2-7 days, which was 0.83 and for diastolic pressure it was the of 2-5 days, which was also the lowest average number of days that presented the best sensitivity (80.8%) and specificity (79.3%). The degree of agreement using Kappa index had a good value (≥ 0.60) from the 2-5 days pattern. Similar to the results of the Bland- Altman graph. Conclusion: Self- measurement of BP is at least as effective as 24- hours ABPM in the diagnosis of arterial hypertension.
