The present thesis shows that this road corridor is of great importance for the development of the daily life of the city, because it allows the daily transit of a great demand of vehicles and along its extension presents a great variety of activities that are carried out in the area; In order to analyze its current situation, two intersections of the road corridor have been studied, which is no stranger to the problems of traffic congestion and chaos caused at rush hour, for this reason a more optimal improvement plan is proposed. As a result of the above, a vehicle count was carried out using manual gauging methodology and road geometry measurements to determine traffic variables, such as volume, flow and speeds, applying current methodologies. Thus, with the calculations obtained, the road capacity and service levels were determined, for which the methodology developed in our research was through the application of the Highway Capacity Manual 2010, which details its analysis for traffic signalized intersections. Finally, Synchro 8.0 software was used to corroborate the results. The results showed that, according to their vehicle composition, motorcycle cabs are the main vehicle circulating through the intersections of the road corridor, presenting F levels of service and that despite the current situation that the country is going through as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, high vehicle demand was observed. Finally, a low-cost improvement proposal was made to reduce congestion at the intersections of Ramón Castilla Ave. and Jr. Lambayeque and Ramón Castilla Ave. and Jr. Circunvalación of the road corridor, by optimizing the distribution of traffic light times, restricting informal vehicles and adequate signaling to achieve a fluid and coordinated traffic flow.
