The present descriptive study was carried out with the objective of determining the intrinsic and extrinsic factors of pressure ulcers according to anatomical areas inpatients of the intensive care unit of the Hospital Belen de Trujillo, 2017; the sampleuniverse consisted of 49 patients, using the observation guide “Intrinsic and extrinsic factors of pressure ulcer according to anatomical areas in patients in the intensivecare unit” as an instrument. It is concluded that of the intrinsic factors: people over 60 (24.5%), male sex (24.5%), overweight (16.3%), being immobile (26.5%) and a completely limited sensory perception (26.5%) were more predisposed to developpressure ulcers. While extrinsic factors: hospital stay on the 7th day (38.8%), beingoften wet (24.5%), the use of adrenaline and norepinephrine (34.7%), the use of invasive mechanical ventilation (36.7%), receiving very poor nutrition (28.6%),presenting an existing friction problem (22.4%) and staying in the supine position (24.5%) were conditions for the development of pressure ulcers of the total numberof patients under study. The areas where pressure ulcers develop are: sacrum76.2%, heels 19% and shoulder 4.8%.
