The present thesis ““Design and hydraulic modeling of an intake to improve the irrigation system in the Populated Center - Buena Vista, District of Chao, Virú 2021““, was elaborated with the objective to provide a technical solution to the problems for the lack of flow for irrigation of crops, because they do not have correct infrastructure to derive the necessary flow to the different hectares in the zone. Currently, the Board of Users of the Minor Chao Hydraulic Sector has 17 users in the San Roberto Sector, 13 users in the Luna Alto Sector and province of Viru, in the departament of La Libertad. Users cultivate mostly avocado, vegetables and yellow corn. According to this reality, the present investigation, has been made for the benefit of the population, taking into account the need for a hydraulic structure to obtain part of the water available in a stream (river channel), and give it proper and efficient use. In addition, we describe the procedure of the hydraulic design, based on the maximum annual rainfall, information found in the pluviometric stations, of course, in the study area; delimiting the basin according to the orography to the exit point where the infrastructure is located, to determine our concentration time to know the necessary time in which the runoff water reaches the defined point and finally obtain our flow to design the intake, applying Creager method such as T (return period) and so dimension the Infrastructure according to the technical conditions obtaining an alternative solution that covers the needs of the current population and future. Finally, after of analyze the hydraulic design of the intake, proceeds with the hydraulic simulation to determine if it complies with the width of the channel with the maximum flood flow according to the return period, to lately discuss the results obtained, and the actions to be taken for the benefit of the population of the Board of Users of the Minor Chao Hydraulic Sector.
