The present research “Comparative analysis of the numerical modeling and iterative process for the design of the potable water supply project of the El Samaritano - Laredo urban development“, is a projection work developed for the future urban development “El Buen Samaritano“ “, Of 795 lots and population density of 5 hab / lot, considering a future population of 3975 inhabitants. Currently, the technical projects of drinking water only perform an iterative process of the design factors L / s (flow, diameter, pressure, velocity) by the formula of Hazen Williams with the method of Hardy Cross taking it as valid results. However, they do not consider the hydraulic behavior of the network over time, especially the design of the 24-hour range through numerical modeling, where the design factors considered are insufficient due to the time variation of the water demand, leading to shortage problems throughout the network, and not complying with the parameters given in the National Building Regulations. Considering these points, this research work compares the method of numerical modeling and iterative process in order to verify the problems of the drinking water network, as well as the dynamic design factors L / s (flow, diameter, pressure, velocity) necessary for the design of the potable water supply project. Once these problems are detected, the final design that the drinking water network should have must be met, complying with the design and regulatory parameters. From the results obtained, it was determined that the numerical modeling considers that the dynamic factors vary in the range of 166.51% to 33.50% of the static flow and speed, and the dynamic pressure varies in the range of 128.60% to 71.40% with respect to the pressure static Taking into account the results obtained in this research work, it is recommended to use the numerical modeling design in any water supply project at national level, given that, with these results, the design does not become sub-dimensioned as in the process iterative.
