Objective: To study the effectiveness of the use of topical corticoids in the resolution of phimosis in children from 4 to 11 years old coming from Hospital II2 Santa Rosa Piura 2018. Methodology: Basic, observational, transversal descriptive and retrospective study of types; with secondary data collection for convenience, where children from 4 to 11 years old with a diagnosis of phimosis were captured. Results: 100 patients were included, the age group with the highest presence was mainly composed of children between 4 (22%) and 5 years (19%), with an average age of 6.46 years. The most frequent type of phimosis (33%) was Kayaba type V. In the present study we found that the success of the use of topical steroids reached 72% of effectiveness and therapeutic failure in 23%, so these patients ended up in surgical intervention (circumcision). Conclusions: The use of topical steroids is 72% effective for phimosis in children.
