The present study aimed to determine the relationship between emotional dependence and impulsivity in 4th and 5th-cycle management students at a private university in Trujillo. It is a substantive study with a descriptive-correlational design. A sample of 140 university students aged 18 to 27 was used. The Emotional Dependency Inventory (IDE) by Aiquipa (2012) and the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS – 11) adapted to Spanish by Oquendo, M.A (2001) were employed. The results demonstrated a relationship between emotional dependence and impulsivity (rho=.168). Likewise, a relationship was found between cognitive impulsivity and fear and intolerance of loneliness (rho=.210**), partner priority (rho=.202**), need for access to the partner (rho=.244**), desires for exclusivity (rho= .235**), and subordination and submission (rho=.202*). However, it was determined that there is no relationship (p>.05) between motor impulsivity and the dimensions of emotional dependence. Finally, a significant positive relationship was found between unplanned impulsivity and fear and intolerance of loneliness (rho=.172*), partner priority (rho=.170*), need for access to the partner (rho=.173*), and subordination and submission (rho=.177*)
