In this present work called “Evaluation of the surface condition of the flexible pavement of César Vallejo avenue due to the incidence of the coastal child phenomenon in the city of Trujillo - La Libertad 2020“, the main objective of which is to evaluate the current state of the pavement through of its Condition Index applying the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) methodology. This method consists of carrying out a study through in situ observation and determining the functional condition of the taxi platform. That is why procedures are carried out to count values, that is, how are the classification ranges provided by the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) manual, attaching their treatment and conservation in both flexible and rigid pavements. In the development of this research, preliminary inspections were carried out registering the existing pathologies on Cesar Vallejo avenue, thus, with the established equation, samples were obtained in its two sections, such as in the right and left lane, with 14 sampling units and its severity level was evaluated from this, recording it in the format provided by the manual. Accordingly, the inspection had constant tours to specify the various types of damage, accompanied by instruments such as hand level and measuring tapes. After that, the corrected deduced maximum values were determined to calculate the PCI of each sample. So, at the end, an average was obtained and finally a numerical value of 72 was obtained, which indicated its “Good“ classification. And, therefore, it is concluded that the state of conservation of the flexible pavement remains in good condition, even though it has prolonged traffic. In addition, it is proposed as an alternative solution to the types of faults found, a cold asphalt mix re-coating in the tread layer in order to maintain the uniformity and conservation of the pavement.
