The present work has as main objective to determine the prevalence of malocclusions and their relation with the psychosocial impact in adolescents from 13 to 17 years of age who study in the National Educational Institution N ° 81764 “LA CANTERA”. MATERIAL AND METHOD: This research work is of a prospective, transversal, descriptive and observational type that was developed in the I.E.N. No. 81764 ““LA CANTERA““ and included a sample of 190 schoolchildren aged 13 to 17, using the simple random probabilistic selection method. To determine the malocclusions, the Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI) was used and to determine the psychosocial impact, the PIDAQ questionnaire was used. RESULTS: The study found that there is no relationship between malocclusions and psychosocial impact. The prevalence of malocclusions was 101 (53.2%) adolescents presented normal occlusion, 55 (28.9%) presented mild malocclusion, 26 (13.7%) presented severe malocclusion and 8 (4.2%) presented very severe malocclusion. No relationship was found between malocclusions and psychosocial impact in adolescents aged 13 to 17 years according to gender and age. CONCLUSION: It was concluded that there is no relationship between malocclusions and psychosocial impact in adolescents aged 13 to 17 years.
