intraclase RHO = 0.971 e interclase RHO = 0.938.
To determine the relationship between tooth loss and tamoxifen consumption in breast cancer patients. Materials and methods: This observational, cross-sectional study was conducted from July to September 2023. We evaluated 200 adult patients diagnosed with BC, of whom 100 were taking tamoxifen and 100 were not taking tamoxifen, in the service of the Hospital Alta Complejidad ““Virgen de la Puerta““ and the Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas ““Dr. Luis Pinillos Ganoza““ - IREN Norte, Trujillo - Peru. The inter- and intra-evaluator reliability of the oral clinical measurement was determined, resulting in intraclass correlation values RHO = 0.971 and interclass RHO = 0.938. The diagnosis and staging of CM was performed by the medical oncologist of the service. Poisson regression was used for the analysis of results with a significance level of 5%. Results: No relationship was found between tooth loss and tamoxifen consumption in patients with breast cancer (p= 0.221). Study limitations: This study was limited by the lack of a temporal sequence without being able to establish a causal relationship. Conclusions: Tooth loss is not related to tamoxifen use in breast cancer patients. However, patients who consumed for more than one year presented greater tooth loss, as did adult patients aged 60 years and older.
