In the present study we seek to analyze the behavior of the link between the wall and the edge element in non-reinforced vibrated concrete masonry, when subjected to lateral loads. Three prototypes of real scale walls, with 2 samples per prototype and a loading frame were made to carry out the tests. At the same time laboratory test were carried out to obtain the data of the masonry units and thus be able to contrast results applying theoretical formulas and the real results obtained with the loading frame. The shape factors named k1, k2 and k3 were determined, relating the wall and its edge element (E. B.) filled with grout, obtaining an optimal ratio according to the efforts generated for said element. The included results were: k1=0.3824 k2=0.0344 k3=0.7853 With the help of the shape factors obtained, the ideal dimensions of the edge elements (E.B.) were calculated in two cases (either for a dwelling or a perimeter fence) to present a better behavior before lateral loads.
