The development of our thesis is based on the use of the fan shell as a soil stabilizing material in a natural state in the hamlet of Tunel VII in the district of Paimas, province of Ayabaca, department of Piura. The shells used came from the municipal dump in the province of Sechura and were crushed with a 10 lb rammer, thus obtaining particles of sizes between 19 mm and 0.074 mm. The physical and mechanical properties of the mixtures were evaluated by means of tests carried out at the Ingelabc Laboratory in the city of Piura, from which it was obtained that the soil under study is a soil with clays, rocky fragments and clayey silts, of medium to high plasticity and moderately compact nature. The results indicate that crushed fan shell is able to stabilize a clay soil and that its use improves the CBR of the soil.
