Objective: To establish whether Tomographic patterns are associated with changes in the normal respiratory pathophysiology of COVID-19 patients. MATERIAL AND Method: Observational, analytical-cross-sectional, retrospective study with secondary data collection through simple random sampling from the records of patients treated for SARS-CoV-2 who underwent tomography during the year 2020. Results: Significant differences were observed in terms of the sex and age of COVID- 19 infected patients, with a male majority (59.73%) and a more representative group aged 41 to 50 years (62.46%). Urban origin was predominant (94.88%), and the average length of hospitalization was 24.38 days. Regarding comorbidities, arterial hypertension (46.42%), obesity (32.76%), and type 2 diabetes mellitus (29.69%) were highlighted. In terms of tomographic patterns, ground-glass opacity was the most common (39.93%), followed by alterations in the bronchial pattern (35.15%) and pleural effusion (22.87%). Acute respiratory failure, respiratory acidosis, pneumonia, and tachypnea showed a significant association (p<=0.05) with tomographic patterns, along with male sex and age over 40 years. These findings underscore the importance of considering these variables in the assessment and management of COVID-19 patients. Conclusion: The presence of altered lung function does NOT lead to changes in lung CT in COVID-19 patients
