To determine the association between oral habits and malocclusions in children aged 7 to 12 years from I.E 81014 Pedro Mercedes Ureña in Trujillo. Materials and methods: This study was observational and cross-sectional. It was carried out between the months of March-April 2023 and included a total of 274 students from I.E 81014 ''Pedro Mercedes Ureña''. The Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI) and a data collection form on oral habits were used as an evaluation instrument. To determine intra- and inter-rater reliability, a pilot test was carried out with 20 participants and a Cohen's Kappa coefficient of 0.8529 was obtained. For the analysis of results, the Chi-square test was used, considered with a significance level of 5%. Results: There was no significant association between oral habits and malocclusions (p=0.195). There was also no association between digital sucking (p=0.6946) and lip sucking (p=0.5370). However, an association was found in atypical swallowing habits (p=0.0099) and mouth breathing (p=0.0181). Conclusions: An association was found between atypical swallowing habits and mouth breathing with malocclusions. There was no association with digital suction and lip suction
