The present cross-sectional correlational descriptive research was carried out in order to determine the association of the nurse - patient relationship with user satisfaction in the hemodialysis unit of the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital - Trujillo, 2021. The sample consisted of 77 patients, who met the selection criteria, using the survey as a technique, two instruments were applied. The results obtained showed that 64% were middle-aged adults and 27% were older adults. Likewise, 55% were male; Regarding the time they received hemodialysis, 42% belonged to the group less than one year and 32% from 5 years or more. Regarding the nurse-patient relationship, 53% had an adequate relationship, 45% not very adequate and in terms of user satisfaction, 64% were satisfied, 31% were not very satisfied and finally 5% were dissatisfied. Therefore, 48% of patients who said they were satisfied had an adequate nurse-patient relationship, and 26% who presented an inadequate nurse-patient relationship, said they were not very satisfied. According to the statistical analysis, it yielded a p value <0.05 (r = 0.827; chi square = 9.49). Therefore, it is concluded that there was an association of the nurse-patient relationship with user satisfaction
