To demonstrate the association of obstetric complications and the age of pregnant women at the Hospital Belen de Trujillo in the period 2020-2021. Material and methods: An analytical study was carried out of retrospective cohorts in which 138 pregnant women were included, according to selection criteria which were divided according to the age of the pregnant woman, the chi square and the risk relative statistic were calculated. Results: It was found that pregnant adolescents have a 45% higher incidence of presenting obstetric complications than non-adolescent pregnant women (RR: 2.34, 95% CI 1.6 - 3.3 and p value <0.001). It was also found that obstetrics complications: premature rupture of membranes and preterm birth had a higher incidence in pregnant adolescents than in non-adolescents (RR 4.02, 95% CI 1.7 - 9.1 and p value <0.01) and (RR 3.2, 95% CI % 1.3 – 8.0 and p value <0.01) respectively. Anemia is an intervening variable that influences the results of the study (RR 3.56, 95% CI 2.4 – 4.7 and p value <0.003) Conclusion: Adolescent pregnancy is a risk factor (RR: 7.34, 95% CI 3.0 - 17.5 and p value <0.001) in the appearance of obstetric complications at the Hospital Belen de Trujillo in the period 2020 - 2021.
