Introduction The virtual environment during the pandemic has compromised the emotional state of the teacher and the student, giving rise to greater demands and the confrontation of new challenges in terms of teaching. Objective: To determine the association between Burnout Syndrome and the performance of teachers of Human Medicine UPAO Piura during the period 2020-10. Methodology: A cross-sectional analytical study was developed, for which teachers were surveyed using the Maslach inventory and students were surveyed using the opinion survey that the university conducts every six months. The information was analysed with the STATA v11.0 programme. Results: There was a significant association between the personal fulfilment component and marital status (p=0.009), course taught (p=0.046) and gastritis (p=0.044), between depersonalisation and number of children (p=0.001) and hours of sleep (p=0.025) and between emotional exhaustion and obesity (p=0.005) and hours of sleep (p=0.042). Conclusion: Only 2 teachers presented Burnout Syndrome, so the results cannot be extrapolated.
