To determine the clinical and biochemical factors associated with perioperative complications due to laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in patients treated at the Hospital Regional Docente Cajamarca. Method: Case-control study in which 207 medical records of patients undergoing LC between 2016 and 2019 were reviewed, divided according to the presence or absence of perioperative complications (69 cases and 138 controls). Associated factors were analyzed by calculating the odds ratio and multivariate analysis. Results: The average age was 53.9 years in patients with complications and 47.1 years in controls, being 65 years or older was significantly associated with post LC complications (aOR: 4.85, 95%CI: 1.27 - 18.53), leukocytosis was more frequent in the cases than in the controls (39.1% and 11.6%, respectively), this being a factor independently associated with perioperative complications (aOR: 3.53, 95%IC: 1.59 – 7.83), finally, the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) greater than or equal to 4 was also associated with post-LC complications after performing the multivariate analysis (aOR: 2.87, 95%CI: 1.46 – 5.65).. Conclusion: Age greater than or equal to 65 years, leukocytosis and NLR greater than or equal to 4 are factors associated with perioperative complications due to LC
