To determine the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic on dental appointments and anxiety in adults of Huaraz city. Material and methods: The following is a prospective, transversal, descriptive and observational study. An online survey was answered by 189 citizens with Peruvian nationality, residing in Huaraz city, that were over 18 years old, through the virtual platform Google Forms. The results obtained were presented in double entry tables with simple absolute frequencies, percentages, and totals. To determine the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic on dental appointments and anxiety, the non-parametrical Chi square test was performed using a significance level of 5%. Results: The mean age of the answered survey was 38 years. Most of the surveyed were respecting the quarantine due to the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, from which 35.4% showed feeling anxious and 29.1% calmed about the pandemic. Women showed to feel more fear and anguish, while men showed to be more calmed. There was a higher percentage (53.4%) of respondents who would only attend a dental appointment if it was an emergency. There was a significant association between anxiety levels and willingness to attend a dental appointment. The biggest concern was that dental treatments could be prolonged due to the pandemic. Conclusion: The SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic has shown to have a negative impact on dental appointments and anxiety in adults of Huaraz city. Older adults and adults showed a greater willingness to attend a dental appointment than younger people. There are no differences between men and women in the willingness to attend a dental appointment. The level of education was not determinant whether to attend a dental appointment or not. Anyone undergoing a dental treatment would attend a dental appointment. There is latent concern that dental treatments could be prolonged due to the pandemic.
