The city of Trujillo presents problems in transport, more and more congested city roads are observed and this problem increases at peak hours causing discomfort in the population that takes longer to get around the city every day. In this paper, the main objective is to propose a proposal to improve vehicle congestion from the intersection of Av. South America with Av. José María Eguren to the intersection of Asencio Segura Street. This section presents serious problems of vehicular congestion due to the fact that it is located in a highly commercial area of the city, the Maestro shopping center, hardware stores, grocery stores, paint shops, etc. being located nearby, the problem is exacerbated by the fact that There is no horizontal or vertical road marking, nor measures to regulate traffic in the area. Therefore, an efficient and safe transport network is required making use of the resources available in a more rational way, so it is proposed to install a traffic light at the intersection of Eguren Avenue with Felipe Pardo y Aliaga Avenue and Jirón Balboa in which it will have a cycle duration of 83 seconds for phase 1, green time of 28 seconds, amber time of 2 seconds and all red of 7 seconds were determined; for phase 2, green time of 36 seconds, amber time of 2 seconds and all red of 8 seconds were determined; carry out the horizontal and vertical signaling of the road, establish supply schedules of the shopping centers and on Abraham Valdelomar Street restrict the flow of traffic to only one direction.
