To determine the relationship between periodontal status and salivary ph in patients in the first trimester of pregnancy. Materials and method: The study was comparative and observational. 71 pregnant women were evaluated. The community periodontal index was used to assess periodontal status and pH meter to determine salivary pH. Spearman's correlation coefficient was used, considering the value of p = 0.05. Results: There is a relationship between periodontal status with salivary ph in patients in the first trimester of pregnancy (p = 0.039). 36.6% of pregnant women lent a bag <5.5mm. According to age group of 18 to 24 years (p = 0.605) and of 25 to 35 years (p = 0.071) and parity of primitive patients (p = 0.239) and multigests (p = 0.114) there is no relationship. Conclusions: There is a relationship between periodontal status with salivary ph in patients of the first trimester of pregnancy, however there is no relationship according to age group and parity. The code with the highest prevalence in pregnant women was 3 (bag <5.5mm).
