The present investigation carried out under qualitative paradigm, with a phenomenological approach; Its objective was to reveal the experiences of the nurse in the process of death of the critical patient in the Intensive Care Unit. Hospital Regional II-2 Tumbes, had a population of 36 nurses, saturating the sample in 8 participants, to whom an in-depth individual interview was applied, after an in depth analysis the taxonomies that gave rise to the following categories and subcategories were identified: Category I.-Experiences of the Nurse facing the process of death. Category II.- Self-awareness of feelings in the face of the death process. Subcategory 2.1.- Self-awareness of positive feelings towards death. Subcategory 2.2.- Self-awareness of negative feelings towards death. Category III.- Unveiling emotions in the face of the death process. Subcategory 3.1.- Unveiling positive emotions in the face of the death process. Subcategory 3.2.- Revealing negative emotions in the face of the death process. Category IV.- Describing attitudes of the Nurse in the presence of a dying person. Subcategory 4.1.- Assuming attitudes of solidarity commitment. Subcategory 4.2.- Adopting attitudes of indifference. Subcategory 4.3.- Showing an attitude of routine compliance. Results show the feelings of the professionals who have experienced the death process in the care subjects.
