The population and the number of vehicles grow year by year, in view of this the studies carried out are becoming imprecise for new road problems that can satisfy the needs of the population and their safety. Reason why this thesis project's main objective is to diagnose the current situation on Ignacia Shaeffer Ave. that reveals technical failures in the road system and thus be able to provide proposals for the vehicular and pedestrian improvement of this main avenue and its intersections traffic lights in the city of Tambogrande. This study was carried out according to the methodology provided by the Highway Capacity Manual and improvement proposals provided by MTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications). In which data such as the hour of greatest traffic intensity in rush hours, the types of vehicles that circulate, the traffic light cycle and delays, width of the roads, service levels and capacity, among others. Were determined As results we obtained at traffic light intersections such as street Catacaos; street 9 de Noviembre y Frias and street Arambulu Santin delays of 21.69 seconds, 14.12 seconds and 28.21 seconds respectively with service levels from B to D. Where, added to the lack of horizontal and vertical signage, as a lack of stops there is a vehicular and pedestrian congestion where it endangers both drivers and pedestrians. Finally, some proposals or proposals for improvements are presented based on the analysis and results obtained in this thesis.
