The research work began with the analysis of operating costs and expenses of the inventories and then determined the study sample using the ABC model for convenience using as a unit of analysis the income from sales and inventory rotation, obtaining a total of 21 representative articles within sector ““A““. The entire sample had for the period 2021 a total inventory inventory costs of S/87,499.46, order costs of S/5,152 and a capital freeze cost of S/990.41. Likewise, all articles had high demand volatility with a coefficient of variation greater than 20%, which allowed the periodic review model to be applied to the study sample. Before applying the ““P““ model, demand forecasting was carried out using linear, exponential, logarithmic, potential, polynomial and exponential smoothing regression models, taking the absolute mean deviation (DAM) as a selection statistic. As a result of the application of the ““P““ model, a reduction in the order cost of S/5,122 to S/2,786.23 was obtained by 2022, which represented 45.92% compared to 2021. Likewise, the cost of maintaining inventories was reduced from S/3,172.97 to S/2,802.01, which represented 11.69% compared to 2021. Finally, the cost of inventories went from S / 87,499.46 to S / 75,049.87 which represented in percentage terms a reduction of 14.23%. By achieving greater efficiency in inventory management, an increase in operating profit of 95.33% was obtained
